Aghast (in a seriously good way)
I have written about Alex MacArthur here and here. Since I cannot visit the shop daily (and I would if I lived in Brighton), I live vicariously though the beautiful images of the masterfully styled merchandise. This is one of those rare cases where buying one of the treasures—thereby destroying the artfully arranged decorative narrative—would almost be a sin...

Through the Looking Glass
Still on the Alex MacArthur obsession. I have poured over the multitude of photographs of his shop on St. Georges Street in Brighton, but what truly struck me as remarkable are his window displays. No one can doubt his skill as a master merchandiser, let alone his gift of sourcing one-of-a-kind pieces ranging from the ecclesiastical to the industrial. Here is just a fraction to entice….
