Studio Peregalli
Old world magnificence from the Milanese interior firm, Studio Peregalli - the custodians of which are interior designer Roberto Peregalli and architect, Laura Sartori Rimini. The New York Times TMagazine article describes the two collaborators as having:

Bergdorf Agency
A quintessential, 200-year old chalet in Interlaken (Bernese Oberland) has been renovated and re-imagined as a calm sanctuary under the aegis of the Bergdorf Agency and architect, Nick Ruef (and a genius Farrow & Ball colour palette)...

Alphaville on the Esplanade
Like a scene from a lost New Wave feature by Jean-Luc Godard, the Blue Waters Hotel on the Durban esplanade holds on to the last remnants of the geometric age from whence it comes. Largely untouched, the circular lounge looks onto the Indian ocean, with turquoise drapes weighted down as much by history, as by thick fabric. It was a beautiful morning to rediscover Durban via Beach Road; the technicolor saris and bold rhythmic Bollywood performances of the South Africa India Film Awards from the night before still pounding my head...

Volkshaus Bar and Brasserie
Swiss Architectural Studio, Herzog & de Meuron is responsible for revitalizing the historic Volkshaus building in Basel - poised to house a brasserie, bar, library and hotel. I particularly love the cloakrooms, fitted with reclaimed sinks and lined with wallpaper depicting imagery from seventeenth century etchings....

Palacio de los Condes de Miravalle
Talk about the best of both worlds. A flawless combination of 17th century colonial grandeur with a raw industrial/contemporary edge, this historic landmark within the UNESCO World Heritage Site (The historic center of Mexico City) has been restored into the stylish Downtown Mexico Hotel by Abraham Cherem of Cherem Arquitectos...

A Cafe in Baku
Isn't this an extraordinary space? Apparently, as rumour has it... the hole (seen below) was originally caused by a rooftop bomb attack. So, add an abundance of free-spirited foliage to soften the blow (so to speak) and create a restaurant. Easy-peasy? Well, it certainly has the wow factor...

Tweed Run
I think we need to copycat this idea for Cape Town. Ridiculously appealing, not to mention all those rather dashing young men (and women) tweeded up to the gills...
