The Hart and the Hunter

Whew! Things have been insanely busy here. Went straight from shooting a film into mom mode for our provincial swimming championships with my daughter for 5 days.

Not to mention trying to absorb the enormity of the passing of Nelson Mandela. There are simply no words to adequately express the gratitude we have for our noble former president who epitomised selflessness...

In the meantime, I found this fabulous treasure in Los Angeles (The Hart and the Hunter) via Remodelista...

A Cafe in Baku

Isn't this an extraordinary space? Apparently, as rumour has it... the hole (seen below) was originally caused by a rooftop bomb attack. So, add an abundance of free-spirited foliage to soften the blow (so to speak) and create a restaurant. Easy-peasy? Well, it certainly has the wow factor...

Les Trois Garçons

Square Meal wrote the following about Les Trois Garçons Restaurant:

It’s been nearly a decade since Les Trois Garçons first opened its doors. And during this time, nearly every restaurant in town has paid homage to its exaggerated chic style – some taxidermy here, a bejewelled gee gaw there. But no one has done it with as much verve as the triumvirate behind this ultra-deluxe bistro.

The desserts sound utterly decadent. If I ever get there, I have already chosen the Dark chocolate and praline mille feuille with confit sultanas and raisins, tea ice cream and coconut croquant. Have mercy...
