Minutiae

This is a small sampling (from the extensive legacy) of original sketches of unicellular organisms (made mostly during the 1830's) by Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg - German naturalist, zoologist, comparative anatomist, geologist, and microscopist. They are housed at the German Natural History Museum. The detail on these illustrations is painfully exquisite...
